Chango’s Bar & Grill – Authentic Mexican Eats & Burritos in Carbondale, IL

Delicious smells fill the air right as u walk in and discover the clean, modern look the owners choose for this interior. Price is moderate and the staff was working together swiftly expediting the large line of patrons that crowded in behind us to order. Chips and rice we're good No that was plenty large enough to satisfy even a hearty appetite.

I really was hoping to find a place that can satisfy my craving for Chipotle while in Carbondale. And man am I happy about finding Changos!! I really enjoyed their burrito. The meat is well seasoned, not dry at all. I was very satisfied. Very tasty & fulfilling. The prices are very reasonable as well! I was really hungry after a hard workout so I got a 14” burrito, double meat ($2.00) and guac ($1.25). It only was $15 and it came with chips. They also have 8” and 12” burritos too that are even cheaper. Acceptable customer service, nothing to really brag about but that’s irrelevant. The food was good. I am a big fan.. catch me here every week! Lol

What! The crunch wrap here is the bomb. What a fantastic experience. 10/10 would come back again.

I've had everything on the menu but always come back to the chicken, bacon, quesadilla. They load it up with generous portions of each item, especially the meat. But the great topper is the chipotle ranch sauce. I don't know what all is in it, but it adds the final touch to your entree. Service is a little slow, but it's made right in front of you, to your satisfaction, so can't complain too much. Dine-in area is looking a little rough but gets the job done. It is in my permanent rotation for my weekly fix of great Mexican food.

Good little spot. I got a taco salad and was able to load it up as I liked. It was pretty good, maybe a tad overpriced but not bad. I'm hoping to return because there are several things on the menu that I want to try, mainly the torta which wasn't available the day I went, hence the loss of a star. I chose to try this place because I wanted a torta so I was a bit bummed to learn that I couldn't get it

I love Chango’s!! I usually order tacos or Doritos nachos. Chango’s wraps is also super good. Staff is friendly. Food is great.

I'm thankful for a local, enhanced alternative to Moe's (and restaurants like it- Chipotle, Qdoba, etc). Chango's will always be my first option in Carbondale. Chango's does an excellent job of bringing good, authentic Mexican flavors like barbacoa and chicken tinga to the very popular burrito assembly line style of restaurant. They offer all the standard and upgraded sides like multiple bean/rice options, grilled peppers/onions, queso, and fresh veggie/herb toppings and do all of them very well. In addition to allowing you to create a taco, nachos, quesadilla or a bowl, they also offer the option to create a torta (Mexican sandwich). Of course you always get a serving of fresh tortilla chips and salsa with your order and can complete the meal with a great cup of horchata. It's a must try on the downtown strip of Carbondale!
